I've been trying to come up with a decent looking, easy to edit, and cheap website for years. I'm no web-designer so there goes the first. Numbers 2 and 3 often don't go together in the same sentence. I've been playing with Drupal on and off for about 5 years now. I've tried other CMS setups, but for some reason kept coming back to Drupal. I've also been trying to work on a website for my brother that also fit the same criteria without much luck. The big push came last Christmas when that was the year we were finally going to put out a Christmas card. Well it just so happened that we were able to purchase a house right at the end of our lease (perfect timing!) and things got crazy. We moved in the week before Christmas and needless to say the card didn't get done. I thought I could make a quick site and publish that to let people read as much or as little as they wanted. They could also see as many or as few pictures as the wanted. Well, the perfectionist in me did not allow it to happen. That site got abandoned, never even published in fact. I got the itch to work on a site again and bounced between a couple things. I then realized what I was coming up with would work for my brother's site too. You'll see the similarities in the style of them, but I think it works well for both. They are also very user friendly which helps too. I'm by no means a great Drupal expert, but I can add modules as good as the next guy. I've also figured a lot more about views out and that has really made it all come together.
I hope you enjoy the site. Not sure how much I'll post, but hopefully at least the pictures will be good. We will also be able to add good posts of big adventures that we have. I have plans to also add a little side page for my photography hobby that has been gathering dust in the corner as working on websites and being a dad (mostly the latter) has taken most of my time.
